Academics
Our commitment to academic excellence is at the core of everything we do. We are dedicated to sparking a love for learning and helping our students achieve high academic standards.
In our classrooms, teachers use innovative methods like project-based learning and interactive technology to make lessons engaging and relevant. For example, in science, students might create models of ecosystems, while in math, they might use coding to solve real-world problems. These approaches make learning fun and help students understand and retain complex concepts.
We foster a supportive environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and collaborate with their peers. Through group projects, classroom discussions, and unique hallway collaboration stations, we cultivate creativity and teamwork.
Career Tech Opportunities
Through authentic learning experiences, DMS is enhancing student engagement and fostering lifelong learners. Our Career Tech teachers cultivate STEM literacy through school-wide and grade-level projects.
Collaborative partners beyond the school's walls play a crucial role in laying authentic learning foundations. These individuals are invited to serve as guest speakers, volunteers, and collaborators in real-world experiences and concepts.
STEAM (6th Grade): Students are immersed in a program that introduces them to robotics, coding, and hands=on, collaborative projects.
Agriscience (7th Grade): Students engage in activities such as planting and maintaining a school garden, conducting soil tests, and exploring sustainable farming practices.
Business Education (8th Grade): Students participate in projects such as developing business plans, participating in simulated stock market activities, and utilizing software to manage virtual businesses.
Through these initiatives, DMS aims to provide students with a robust, engaging, and practical education that prepares them for future success.
